![]() What a great touch! The materials were not your usual ear materials. The silhouette of Tink and her stars/pixie dust is great, but what really made me happy was her little poof from her shoe in the center of the tulle bow. It is not your typical glue covering and I was really impressed with the symmetry of the ribbon. The silver edging ribbon was really unique. When I first opened these ears, I was blown away! Ears From Wonderland did a phenomenal job with the packaging! I love the color of the ears, the rich green that embodies everything Tinkerbell, and it was just a perfect first impression. These would be great for any trip to Pixie Hollow or Never Neverland! Meeting Tinkerbell or The Peter Pan Ride at Walt Disney World would be the perfect opportunity to snap a picture in these fabulous ears! Fairytale Forest (Hong Kong) Overall Score: (4.9/5) Where should future FashionEarstas be seen in these ears? Everyone loved my outfit they said I looked just like Tink! I also heard later that Tink made sure to let Vidia know that there were ears specifically with her on them! (Vidia is apparently not happy and wants ears of her own!) To keep the peace, I may have to look and see if I can find some for her. I had a wonderful day in Pixie Hollow with the Tinker Fairies. Seeing everything from a fairy’s point of view is incredible, and you truly begin to see how beautiful our earth is. We flew fast that day to see everything she wanted to show me before I had to leave - they had to finish preparing springtime! Can you believe that my ears never once fell off? I even forgot I was wearing them! Pixie Hollow is even more beautiful in person. We stopped by the Pixie Dust tree so that I would have enough pixie dust to keep up with Tink and her friends. “We’ll be hearing about this all week.” Fairy Mary said, rolling her eyes.Īfter I helped make some acorn teapots and leaf baskets, Tink decided it was time to take a quick tour of Pixie Hollow. She laughed at one of Tink’s shoe poofs in the center of the bow. ![]() She did a thorough inspection of the stitching and the gluing and made sure that the ears were perfectly proportionate. Fairy Mary looked over the ears and proclaimed that they were very well made. I enjoyed working with these people very much. I quickly reached into my satchel and donned my newest, most extraordinary ears! Tink looked hard and giggled when she saw herself and the pixie dust flying across the ears. The people at Pixia are very professional, outgoing, helpful and friendly. When I walked in, the workshop was all a buzz with the work that needed to be done for Spring. In fact, in good conditions the flavour can improve, up to December or January - put the apples in plastic bag with a few holes in, and store in a refrigerator or a cold but frost-free outbuilding.Īnyone who likes a Cox-style apple will definitely appreciate Pixie, and it undoubtedly belongs to the small band of Cox-style apples which come close to the balance and depth of their illustrious parent. It was great to spend time with Tink in her workshop! It tastes nice straight from the tree, but like many late varieties it also keeps well. Pixie is one of the later-ripening varieties, and is ready for picking around the middle of October. Pixie also seems to grow well on dwarfing rootstocks such as M9 and M27, so it will fit in quite a small space. The main problem is a tendency to over-crop and produce lots of very small apples, but this can be prevented by simply removing a lot of the fruitlets immediately after the tree has blossomed, and in this way some good-sized apples can be produced. However it makes an ideal apple tree for the garden, since it grows easily and crops well without much effort required on the part of the gardener! It is also resistant to the main diseases of apples, scab and mildew. Pixie is also juicier and crisper than a Cox.Īs its name suggests, Pixie tends to be a rather small apple, and for this reason it is not grown commercially. The flavour is extremely good, tending to be slightly sharper than a Cox, especially just after picking - but it's a refreshing sharpness and certainly not acidic. Since Sunset is also an offspring of Cox it is not surprising that Pixie both looks and tastes very similar to Cox. The exact parentage is not known, but it is thought to be Cox's Orange Pippin or Sunset. A cheeky gangster flick with attitude, Pixie is a bloody delight and I do mean that literally. Pixie is a small apple which is big on flavour.
